curriculum vitae Monique Ramioul (1960) has a master in sociology (sociology of work and organisation). From 1985 until 1990, she worked as a researcher in the Work and Organisation section of the Department of Sociology (K.U.Leuven). Afterwards until 1995, she worked as an advisor for the Flemish Foundation for Technology Assessment, where she conducted research on issues such as the impact of technological innovation on the organisation of work, outsourcing, flexibility, the position of female workers on the labour market. In 1995, she returned to the university for a position at the Resource Centre for Labour Market Research (Steunpunt Werkgelegenheid, Arbeid en Vorming) where she was a.o. responsible for the statistical analysis in view of the yearly monitoring book of the Flemish labour Market.

From September 2000 on, she has been a research manager at HIVA. She is currently attached to the ‘Work and organisation’ research group. From November 2001 to December 2004, she co-ordinated the STILE project, a 5FP project of the IST programme-Eurostat.She is the co-ordinator of the WORKS project, Works and Organisation Restructuring in the Knowledge Society, an Integrated Project which runs from 2005 to 2009, including 17 European partners, in Thematic Priority 7 - Citizens and Governance in the Knowledge-based Society (6FP). She is also the co-promotor of KEROSINE a IWT-SBO project (2006-2010).

Her main research topics concern the information society and changes in work, outsourcing, flexibility, social dialogue, and labour market issues. Her research experiences include both the management and co-ordination of large-scale international projects, the management of a research team and a personal long-standing experience in scientific research on work and organisation.
